2019 WHO Global Survey on Infection Prevention and Control and Hand Hygiene

Yesterday the World Health Organization launched the 2019 WHO Global Survey on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and Hand Hygiene. It will be open for four months from 16 January to 16 May 2019.

The survey has two levels, involving the completion of two tools at the health care facility:
– The WHO Infection Prevention and Control Assessment Framework (IPCAF), and
– The WHO Hand Hygiene Self-Assessment Framework (HHSAF).

Currently this is available in English, French, and Spanish. Any acute health care facility around the world can participate. The WHO also encourages Ministries of Health (ideally through their national IPC focal point/team) and stakeholders to take the lead in promoting and coordinating the survey process and data collection among health facilities in their country.
