On behalf of the Infection Control Africa Network Board and executive team, we want to thank all the attendees at the 7th ICAN Congress 2018. More than 200 delegates from 15 countries attended the conference, which took place from 8-11th July, Cape Town, South Africa. Under the themes of mother and child infections, antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial stewardship, the event demonstrated the importance of implementing effective infection prevention and control measures at a local level in order to realise sustainable developments.
